A young man drowned in Kurumenveli

Kurumenveli ManA young man from Kurumenveli in Batticaloa District drowned on this Saturday afternoon while fishing in Kurumenveli - Mandoor lagoon.  It has been reported that his paddle was unexpectedly broke and caused the boat to sink.

Fishermen who were fishing on the same lagoon tried to search and save him but their search ended in vain.

Burglary in Batticaloa

BurglarBurglars are running rampant across Batticaloa with two houseses in Tricomalee highway and a house in Kannagi Amman Kovile road had been broken in on Thursday, 8th Dedember the Batticaloa Police said.
